Replace initiators

Unisphere host management includes the management of initiators and initiator groups. An initiator group is a container of one or more host initiators.

About this task

If a host adapter fails, or needs replacement for any reason, you can replace the adapter and assign the set of volumes to a new adapter.

To replace an initiator:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Hosts > Initiators.
  3. Select the initiator, click An icon showing three dots arranged in a vertical row, signifying a menu with more options, and then click Replace Initiator.
  4. Type the identifier of the new initiator.
  5. For storage systems running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079) that support NVMe/TCP, type the host ID.
  6. Click OK.
